This site is designed to check if a website is really down or if a user’s computer or network is just not opening it.

The site was founded by Alex Payne and was later acquired by Bweeb.

The site is a very simple interface. There are no complicated directions or results to wade through. It is a fast, easy-to-use tool.

The site opens with a plain screen with the question: Is ______ down for everyone or just me? Users fill in the blank with the site they wish to check and click the link (the “or just me” portion of the question).

Users are answered with “It’s just you” or “Yikes! The website is actually down!” There are no explanations for site outages or advanced features. An advertisement for Site 5 hosting is prominently included, presumably this is a sponsored placement for revenue.

There is no registration.

The application is completely free to use.

This site is very useful for anyone wishing to check if a site is down or if the problem is related to a local issue such as computer firewalls or network problems.
